Dear Band Parents;
The CNUSD Board of Education has APPROVED our jazz bands trip to Chicago! This will be an exciting trip that, we are sure, will be remembered for a lifetime. The three jazz bands will be leaving the morning of Thursday, April 6 and returning Sunday, April 9. We will be touring one of the most exciting cities in America! Please review the attached itinerary for a more detailed schedule of the trip.
As with any trip, there are costs, deadlines, etc. Our total cost is obviously determined by the number of students that are going on the trip. The cost per student is $1250.00. This price includes the following: roundtrip airfare to Chicago, touring coach, tour guides, hotel, breakfast and dinner each day, DJ/dance dinner cruise, multiple performances including the Dixie Jazz Classic Festival, “The Blue Man Group” performance followed by a clinic by their performers as well as entrance fees to the many museums and attractions in Chicago.
We have a quick financial deadline to meet to secure plane tickets. It is necessary for each student going to make a deposit of $300.00 on or before October 21, 2016 to secure our flight. Please make checks out to the Santiago Band Boosters and have your son or daughter turn this in at class time no later than October 21st. Please note the payment schedule and amount below. Please understand that this is an optional trip and your booster sponsorship must be paid/current before a student or chaperone commitment can be made. Any payments made must be submitted on or before the dates listed. You may pay the total amount immediately if you desire.
It is important that parents and students understand that due to policies of the many companies that we are using for this trip, students who commit to the trip are responsible for the TOTAL AMOUNT. NO REFUNDS will be given to those who sign up to go and no person can drop out of the trip. The band is financially responsible to the many companies to pay the total amount for each person attending the trip. A commitment sheet has been attached. Please sign and date it and have your son/daughter return it with the first payment.
Parents who would like to chaperone may be allowed to join the trip based on availability of space. Please let us know ASAP if you are interested in chaperoning by emailing us at email@example.com. We will send out an email of those who will be chaperoning so you may request roommates if available. The cost of the trip for chaperones is as follows:

One person to a room – $1575.00/person
Two people to a room – $1425.00/person
Three people to a room – $1375.00/person
Four people to a room – $1325.00/person
Chaperones – please make the same $300.00 initial deposit as the students. The remaining payments may be made on the same schedule as the students with the amount determined by the rooming situation.
Our first payment, again, is $300.00 and is due on October 21st, allowing us to secure plane tickets. Our schedule for payments is: (student prices)

February 15 – $350.00
