BOSS Marching in the Rose Parade

Known as the BOSS (Bands and Orchestras of Santiago Sharks), our instrumental music program consists of four concert bands, two orchestras, two big band jazz ensembles, a 234 piece marching band of musicians and a Color Guard. The different performing groups have won many sweepstakes and superior ratings, often unanimously. The bands have performed all over the United States, including multiple performances in Washington, D.C., New York City, Orlando, Honolulu and Seattle.  The Santiago High School Marching Band and Color Guard’s proudest moment was more recent, as they were selected to participate in the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.  The BOSS is the first high school in the Corona-Norco Unified School District to receive this honor.  In 2009, two of the concert bands performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City.  In 2011 the BOSS performed at the Kennedy Space Center and visited Walt Disney World.   In 2018 we returned to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade. In 2014 and again in 2019, Santiago Band had the distinct privilege of performing again in Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The core of the BOSS program is a diverse, energetic, talented group of students who are passionate about music and love to perform.  At the head of this group is band directors Joe Dudek, Kevin McGee and color guard director Corkie Keys.  Finally, the backbone of the bands and color guard is the SHS Band Boosters and the many alumni, family and friends who proudly support their BOSS.
